Our waterfront property of the week is an architecture award winning gem that sits directly on Old Greenwich’s coveted Little Cove and boasts a private dock and mesmerizing views of Long Island Sound. The classic shingle interior leads to a modern and meticulously executed interior. Every room and curve of the house was designed to embrace the spectacular views.
It’s not easy to choose, but here are 6 Shore Things that we love about 6 Little Cove.
6. The View
Let’s just state the obvious right up front. The view of this property is the first and obvious reason why this spectacular home is our feature this week. Located on an inlet of Greenwich Beach, more commonly referred to as Tod’s Point, the protected harbor is perfect for any water sport that you can desire – swimming, paddle boarding, sailing, power boating. Or do nothing at all and just stare out over the horizon at some of the most beautiful sunsets in all of CT. This ‘backyard’ is the quintessential waterfront oasis.
5. The Office
We can’t imagine getting anything done with this view – but we would love to give it a try. This room features fantastic storage cabinets built right into the crescent shape of the walls and 180 degree views of the magnificent water landscape.
4. This Foyer/Library Room
This is the most magnificent chandelier we’ve seen – the way it envelopes the entire room but doesn’t seem big or clunky. And then there is the circular library walls themselves, complete with a ladder that goes from side to side, not only accessing books, but a clever storage system located just above the reading materials.
3. The Wine Room
Most of the homes in this town do not have basements, so this is an ingenious way to incorporate the demand for a wine cellar with the space constraints of the zoning. This beautifully executed glass encased wine storage is tucked cleverly under the stair case. The design of the racks make them a welcome addition to the room and make a gorgeous presentation for your favorite vintages.
2. This Master Bath
Bathtime is no child’s play in this luxurious infinity tub that overlooks the the Point. You get the sense you’re floating in a cloud when soaking in here. The modern fixtures and finishes in this layout are exquisite and only the rainfall shower can top this to perfect master bath.
The home was featured on NBC New York’s Open House. Check out the video to find out more about this amazing property.
